Work Experience Program
The Work Experience Program is a 0.5 credit, semester-long course offered on a Pass/No Pass basis. This opportunity is available to juniors (11th grade) and seniors (12th grade), who currently have a job.
NCSD Policy:
Students may earn 0.5 credit per semester, beginning no earlier than the summer before their junior year. A maximum of 2.5 credits may be applied toward graduation through the Work Experience Program.
To Enroll:
- Students will need to pick up the Work Experience Agreement form from the Counseling Office
- The form must be completed with signatures from the student, parent/guardian, and employer before turning in.
- Completed agreement forms must be submitted to the Counseling Office within the designated add/drop period.
- Students are required to complete a total of 150 work hours by the end of the semester.
Work Hour Timelines:
- First Semester: September 2nd – February 1st
- Second Semester: February 2nd – June 15th
Submission Requirements: Proof of hours must be submitted by filling out the form:

Students are responsible for uploading proof of completed work hours.
Acceptable Forms of Documentation:
- A screenshot from Workday (showing your hours) or your company’s official app
- An image (screenshot or photo) of your pay slips
- An image (screenshot or photo) of your company’s official work-hours spreadsheet
- A letter from your employer on company letterhead, signed by your supervisor
