Principal's Message
Cavalier Families,
It is with much joy and a deep sense of commitment that I extend my warmest greetings to you as the new Principal of Clackamas High School. I am eager to embark on a journey of shared growth, learning, and collaboration that embraces the unique perspectives and lived experiences that make up our community.
With 25 years devoted to the field of education, 24 of which have been within the North Clackamas School District, I am honored to serve a community that holds a special place in my heart. I have held various roles spanning our K-12 system. I began as a middle school mathematics and technology teacher and evolved into a school and district instructional coach. Additionally, I've contributed at the district level as an Associate Director of Teaching and Learning. In the past three years, I've had the privilege of working alongside the exceptional staff and students of Clackamas High School as an Assistant Principal in Curriculum and Counseling. Throughout this journey, I have personally witnessed the commitment and enthusiasm that our educators, students, and families bring to our learning environment every single day.
As a parent myself, I have walked the path of raising children within our school district. I understand firsthand the joys and challenges, the triumphs and setbacks that come with nurturing young minds. These experiences have provided me insights into the diverse needs of our students and have strengthened my resolve to ensure that each child at Clackamas High School is provided the tools and opportunities to flourish.
I am passionate about our district's values: Equity, Relationships, Care, Integrity, and Empowerment. These aren't just words; they guide us in making our school a welcoming and supportive place for all. My dedication to celebrating each student's unique identity, culture, and experiences remains unwavering. Our true strength lies in our diversity. By sharing our stories and lived experiences, we can bridge gaps, foster a sense of belonging, and unite as a cohesive community that sees the humanity in one another.
We look forward to partnering with you, as your insights and feedback hold immeasurable value in shaping our school's direction in creating the best possible education for your child. Our staff is dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication. Please reach out to me with your thoughts, ideas, stories, celebrations, or simply to introduce yourself when you see me out and about at community events. I am very excited to welcome our students back to school in the coming weeks to continue making great memories both inside and outside the classroom.
Be well,
Alyssa Engle
